In 1916, 23 Prince Arthur Avenue was purchased by the Women's Art Association for $13,000. In 1924, the house next door, 21 Prince Arthur, was purchased.
The main feature is the Dignam Gallery which presents a home-like setting where the ambience for art shows, recitals and concerts, meetings, lectures and parties is very special.
The recently landscaped garden keeps in mind its historic past. It was the setting for tableaux vivants during the '20's and '30's and annual garden parties since 1917. It is hard to believe that this large garden is to be found in downtown Toronto. What a spectacular wedding venue.
"Whenever I was at the WAAC I experienced high professionalism and kindness. Your organization is a real one that all Canadians should be proud of. Please find enclosed my cheque as my gift - donation for maintaining your Library."
